Police, the NHS, welfare, immigration - the major national issues of the day are torn apart on stage in the bold new work from four emerging playwrights.

Immersed within the local community of Battersea, working with local police, NHS and community centres, four writers have been exposed to and inspired by life on a community's frontline. By revealing the untold stories of the borough, the state we're in questions what it means to care in 2016. In an age of political and financial uncertainty, what might the future bring for local communities?

An explosive set of plays commissioned by the theatre who produced the early work of playwrights Dennis Kelly (Matilda the musical), Katori hall (the mountaintop) and Anna Ziegler (photograph 51).

The State We're In ran at Theatre503
