PRAISE FOR ON THE LINE

"Hilariously witty and entertaining throughout, a strong cast...a genuinely brilliant well-structured piece, it is as moving as it is entertaining"

★★★★

Female Arts

"This is an emotional and thought provoking production, well worth catching. The 80s music that follows just tops the night off brilliantly."

Presented by Robyn Bennett in collaboration with Robin Linde Productions

“It’s night’s like these that allow us to go on fighting”

It is 1985 and a group of proactive miner’s wives are hosting a fabulous fundraising party for the families in their community and we are all invited. Babs and her best friend Jackie are putting on a night to remember so come and along and join them for an evening of bingo, boogie and banter!

On The Line is a site specific and immersive performance that draws parallels between Thatcher's "Divide and Rule" tactics and today's political agenda. We take the audience into the heart of a community now lost using film, live music and interactive performance. We have teamed up with Southwark’s local foodbank and as part of the production invite audience members to bring along a food donation which will go directly to those Londoners most in need.

Directed by Yasmeen Arden

Starring Judith Amsenga, Charlotte Higgins, Jeremy Hancock & Dominik Goldning

On The Line was performed at Blackfriars Settlement to a visually impaired audience, and at Platform Southwark as part of Merge Festival 2016.
